UB04 and Release 25.40

UB04

To implement the UB04 the following requirements are necessary.

• Siemens 25.40 MS4 Upgrade must be implemented.
• New UB04 Tables and Elements must be built for almost every locator.
• Retrofits must be made to work with any custom or site specific code.
• Testing, testing, testing to be sure everything is working flawlessly.
• The UB04 form requires a specific printer to print correctly on the new UB04 form.

25.40 Considerations

1. Contact carriers, intermediaries to see when they’ll be ready

2. Determine if a phased cutover is needed. Are some payors ready while others are not?

3. Custom program retrofits

4. New hook programs replace the UB92 hook programs and may need to be changed to work like their old ones.

5. Update Datamailer form code if you use UB tracers. Affected by phased cutover. May need new datamailer tracks if phased cutover.

6. Building/adjusting new Table file.

7. Adjusting Edit Messages. Includes new carrier level matrix and Prevent User Override.

8. Building/updating U4 and H4 datastream description keys

9. Bill4 Parm file. Affected by phased cutover.

10. Print Parameter FM. Affected by phased cutover.

11. Update new Provider Number Qualifier field in Extended Carrier FM.

12. GP file maintenance, including OSHPD in California

13. MIRA abstract POA field add.

14. Inbound Physician interface update (HL7)

15. Hardware – Edge to edge printer is required.

16. Review UB presort programs
